We’re Argo and Anna-Liisa — a couple who, for years, travelled the way a lot of people do: package holidays to Turkey, Egypt, and Greece. Flight, transfer, hotel, beach — someone else made the decisions, and we simply showed up and rested. We don’t regret a single one of those trips. They taught us how to travel without pressure.
But somewhere along the way, a quiet question started to surface. Not a wish for something more extreme or more expensive — something more our own. More choice. More room to change our minds. More of the feeling that a trip belongs to us.
Rhodes was the turning point
In the summer of 2024, we went to Rhodes — our first trip in years with just the two of us. No kids. No schedule. No one asking “what are we doing next?” We slept in, ate late, and let the days find their own shape. That was the first time we understood what we’d actually been missing.
After that, we kept going. Thailand and Krabi in early 2026 — beaches, longtail boats, and small roadside restaurants we kept coming back to. Then Istanbul, our first trip planned entirely on our own, from start to finish. No package, no safety net. It worked. And planning it ourselves turned out to be part of the trip, not a chore to get through before it.
Who we are
It’s just the two of us — Argo and Anna-Liisa. We travel together, and we write about it together: Argo behind the scenes, Liisu behind most of the words you’ll read here.
What this blog is
This is where we share our trips, honestly. Where we stayed, where we ate, what we’d do again, and what we’d skip. No perfect itineraries, no “ultimate guides” — just what worked for us, in case it helps you.
If you’ve ever felt that pull toward planning your own way but weren’t sure where to start — that was us, not long ago. The answer, it turns out, is that you can.
